Ramin Asgard

Mr. Asgard began practicing immigration law in 1994, and currently practices in New York City and Dubai, with clients worldwide. 


As an immigrant, Mr. Asgard is deeply proud of the contributions immigrants have made to America, and believes immigrants bring vitality, entrepreneurship, and new perspectives to America.  Mr. Asgard has also served 16 years as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State, with assignments including: Immigrant Visa Chief in Istanbul & Ankara, Turkey and Consul in Dubai, UAE; Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to Generals David Petraeus and James Mattis; Director of Voice of America-PNN; and Founder of State’s Office of Advanced Data Analytics. 


Mr. Asgard is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers' Association, the Federal Bar Association, and Invest in the USA (IIUSA).  He also proudly participates in the affordable and convenient immigration law platform, Lawfully.


He has served as an adjunct staff member at RAND, and as a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council and at the University of South Florida.  As a policy, immigration, and technology scholar, he has published, presented and moderated widely, including at the UBS CEO Summit, the Atlantic Council, the Stimson Center, the Council on Foreign Relations, Brookings, the Gulf Research Center, University of Southern California, George Washington University, Georgetown University, University of Toronto, UCLA, Cal State-MB, and on media outlets including CNN, NBC, ABC, TRT World, Al Jazeera, Al Hurra, Voice of America, and The National Interest. 


He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Council on Foreign Relations.  He serves on the board of the World Affairs Council of Central Florida, the American Muslim Chamber of Commerce of Greater Orlando, the British American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida, and Art of Hope, a non-profit working to address the Syrian refugee crisis. 


Mr. Asgard holds a JD from Tulane University, a Master’s in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA summa cum laude from Temple University.  He is a Landmark Forum & Landmark Advanced Course graduate.
