Previously, Mr. Asgard was a highly decorated veteran U.S. Foreign Service Officer with the Department of State.  

 

His Diplomatic Career includes:

• Political Advisor at U.S. Central Command, serving as Senior Foreign Policy Advisor (POLAD) to CENTCOM Commanders General David Petraeus and General James Mattis.

• Commercial Attaché, Kabul Afghanistan, helping to attract $1.8 billion in Foreign Direct Investment.

• Director of the Iran Regional Presence Office in Dubai

• Director of Voice of America Persian, VOA’s largest language service, where he increased viewership 380%.

• Founder, Office of Advanced Analytics, Conflict & Stabilization Operations Bureau

• Deputy Political Counselor and Consul General, Saudi Arabia 

• Consul and Immigrant Visa Section Chief, Turkey

 

His work as a International Affairs & Policy Scholar includes:

• Lifetime Member, Council on Foreign Relations,
